Amy,
I was first introduced to beef and noodles when I met my husband who's mother grew up in Indiana...Homemade noodles that are painstakenly cut and dried, then cooked in juices from the beef and served on top of mashed potatoes...I first thought they were crazy! My mother-in-law mentored me on the method of preparing this dish and we have continued the tradition. It is our special meal every year...

Hey Amy, who has more fun than people?

Thanks for sharing your family wisdom in reminding us all that we're damn lucky, no matter what we think we don't have in our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!

One of the fellow bloggers in this year's #tweetsgiving campaign here. I really enjoyed your post - it mirrored a sermon we had last Sunday at St. Luke's UMC on having a spirit of contentment. We are damn lucky indeed.

Amy,

Thank was extremely well written. My word you give context to things that we as American's take advantage of every single day, when there are kids and families in the world that go to bed at night crying because they don't have a bed to lay on, or a cup of water to drink. This is the line that stabbed my soul: Everyone in the United States is damn lucky to be living in a country where even the poorest among us are still among the top 5% of the wealthiest people on earth. God bless and thank you for helping with #indytweetsgiving #tweetsgiving!
